All Healthy Louisiana health plans offer the same basic services as Medicaid or LaCHIP. These include well-child visits, pregnancy care through delivery, medical transportation, prescription drugs, mental health services, and substance use treatment.

Adult dental (21+)
  • Dental exam and cleaning twice a year; fillings, extractions, x-rays once a year, with in-network providers
Adult vision (21+)
  • Eye exam once a year with no copay
  • Glasses covered in full once every two years, if qualify
Adult wellness
  • $15 for yearly well visits, ages 21+
  • $10 for STI Screening, ages 16+
  • Weight Watchers® meetings for members who qualify, ages 18+
  • Members who have gone to emergency room 4+ times for pain can work with case manager to join care management program
Asthma

No extra services.

Care management programs
  • Chronic illness such as asthma, congestive heart failure, diabetes, hepatitis C, HIV, obesity, sickle cell anemia
  • High-risk pregnancy
Child wellness
  • Up to $120 for completing well-baby visits for child’s first year of life
  • $25 for each well visit, ages 15-30 months, up to $50
  • $25 for yearly well visits, ages 30 months to 9 years
  • $25 for yearly well visits, ages 10-20
  • $10 for STI Screening, ages 16+
  • Booster seat for all well visits from birth to 6 years, if qualify
  • Healthy Families child weight management program
  • Boys & Girls Club membership, if qualify
Diabetes
  • $25 for diabetic HbA1C screening
  • $25 for diabetic nephropathy screening
  • $25 for diabetic eye exam
  • $5 for completing a “What do you know about diabetes?” quiz
Member services
  • Help to find a doctor, learn about benefits, and access services
  • Help to file a complaint or appeal denied service
  • 24-hour Nurse Hotline
  • Unlimited visits to in-network doctors
Over the counter (OTC) medications
  • With prescription and copay
Pharmacy copays
  • No copays for children, pregnant women, family planning supplies, members in the hospital, members of a home and community-based waiver, women who have Medicaid due to breast or cervical cancer, members getting hospice services, Native American or Alaska Native members
  • For others, if the medicine is:
    • $10 or less = $0.50 copay
    • $10.01 - $25 = $1 copay
    • $25.01 - $50 = $2 copay
    • Over $50 = $3 copay
Pregnancy
  • New Baby, New Life™ pregnancy rewards program
  • $25 for prenatal visit in the first trimester of pregnancy
  • Portable crib or an infant car seat for 7 prenatal visits
  • $25 for members with high-risk pregnancy to have 17P injection based on OBGYN recommendation
  • $50 for a postpartum visit
  • Family planning kit with condoms, pregnancy test, prenatal vitamins, and more
  • In-home postpartum visit
Transportation
  • Ride to medical appointments with stop at pharmacy for medications
  • Transportation gift card or bus pass, ages 16+ if qualify
Other
  • Healthy living rewards debit or gift cards
  • $25 for getting yearly flu shot
  • $10 per quarter for high blood pressure medication pharmacy fills
  • $25 for follow-up with provider after behavioral health hospitalization
  • Sponsorships and mini grants for community organizations and members in need, if qualify
  • Fruits and veggies for ages 18+ with obesity diagnosis or for pregnant women or up to 60 days after delivery
  • Up to 8 hours respite services each month for caregivers of children up to age 20
